“There’s a way to do it better—find it.” Thomas Edison
If you’re as infatuated with innovative design as we are, then you’ll love the latest kitchen concept from Monogram. Lead industrial designer, Maggie Bellinger, has envisioned an all-in- one island that turned heads last week at the Design Bloggers Conference in LA.
Monogram Appliances’ concept ‘kitchen island of the future’ is an interactive appliance that utilizes touch screen technology and really creative features to seamlessly integrate your healthy living goals with the latest tech gadgets. It’s all here: self-watering countertop herb garden; compost-to- pellet drawer; transparent touch-screen that offers recipes and grow lights for your herbs; dishwasher; an “induction anywhere” zone on the surface top; and much more. Bellinger’s prototype is imagined in a neutral cream with our favorite rose metal accent color.
With many kitchens trending smaller, the all-in- one kitchen island concept offers a tantalizing solution. But in larger kitchens, the island, with its retractable screen, also serves as an excellent surface for your extra prep and catering/entertaining needs. You can watch a quick demo here:
We think you’ll love the WIFI connect appliances that Monogram is rolling out this year. From their Monogram App, you can preheat ovens, check refrigeration temperatures and ice levels, and even reorder detergent. Another great feature? The WIFI connect appliances are BFF’s with Amazon’s Alexa so you can also use voice commands. Around here, we like to call it “no excuse” technology. So let’s get cooking!
