FLORENSE COMMITMENT TO DESIGN EXCELLENCE
Last week, our very own David Allan Charette joined a select group of interior design industry pros in São Paulo, Brazil. As a guest of FLORENSE, an established name in the world of interior design suppliers, David Allan had the chance to learn more about the brand and the cultural and architectural influences behind it.
FLORENSE was established in 1953 and has over 60 showrooms across the Americas, including the Miami showroom that invited our team to visit São Paulo. Mauricio Duran, director of Florense Miami, shared the company’s commitment to quality, eco-minded production, and to diversity in the workforce:
"Half of the people in our factory are women, many leading teams and working on the finest details that need great care."

A JOURNEY OF DISCOVERY IN SÃO PAULO
The trip was meticulously curated to offer guests a firsthand look at Brazil’s unique design heritage. With an itinerary that included visits to iconic architectural landmarks, David Allan was introduced to many of Brazil’s impressive and vibrant design offerings.
Mauricio Duran proudly welcomed guests to the São Paulo showroom. “This is truly a special place. From the moment you arrive, you see the metal trees that rise to the rooftop garden, creating a magical atmosphere. At the entrance, the Arco Kitchen by Pininfarina welcomes guests with innovation and elegance. Every month, more than 1,200 people visit the showroom, where we combine design with hospitality, offering a warm experience that even includes a personal chef to receive our guests.”
"We chose food and travel experiences that showed the true flavor of our region—not only through the dishes but also through the design and feeling of each place,” says Mauricio Duran. “And for me, the most special moment was a warm dinner at Famiglia Veadrigo, where a traditional Italian family welcomed us and served an unforgettable local meal."
THE IMPACT: INSPIRATION AND LASTING CONNECTIONS
"Spending time with other design industry pros and discussing some of the current challenges within our discipline, solutions, and new technology was really helpful. For busy teams like ours, it is also incredibly helpful and inspiring to have opportunities like this to learn about new products and to establish meaningful professional connections.”

David Allan was impressed with the company’s offerings, including Florense’s vertical sliding system which is activated by touch and presence sensors. It makes the backsplash more functional and can be customized with Florense Inalco surfaces, wood, or painted glass.
But one of David’s favorites? The Arco Kitchen by Pininfarina. The design of this beautiful kitchen system marked the brand’s 70th anniversary and became a symbol of innovation and timeless design.
WHY THE TRIP WAS IMPORTANT FOR BRITTO CHARETTE
“When clients hire our team, they expect that we have a deep understanding of the products that are available to them and that we specify for their project,” says David Allan. “We create high-end interiors, but even within that luxury residential market, there exists a need for furniture, fixtures, and finishes at a variety of price points. So, it’s incumbent upon us to learn as much as we can about the new technology and finishes offered by luxury brands in order to help our clients make the best design decisions for their unique circumstances. Being able to visit the showroom and factory in Brazil and to learn about the provenance of the furniture really helps us to give our clients a full picture of what they can expect if they choose FLORENSE.”
“Florense is not just about furniture. It is about values, passion, and people. We try every day to be better as a company, and this love for what we do creates products of very high quality.”
