Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sit for a portrait bust? Well, it’s now possible to be part of this incredible craft, thanks to the inimitable Ralph Pucci. Read on to discover how Jay Britto found out firsthand what it’s like to become immortalized in plaster.

Jay’s sitting took place in Miami, where the renowned luxury brand Ralph Pucci is offering a pop-up portrait commission opportunity. Pucci’s Master Sculptor, Michael Evert, created a clay bust of Jay which was finished in the brand’s proprietary Plasterglass. All of Ralph Pucci’s Plasterglass busts are handmade and a beautiful celebration of craft.

The process was a detailed peek into what the craftspeople at Ralph Pucci deliver on every project. As soon as Jay was seated, Evert immediately jumped into action—expertly applying clay to a wooden pole and creating the sculpture. The entire process took two hours and demonstrated just how quickly a master sculptor like Evert can capture his subject.

Last year, Jay had the great fortune of visiting Pucci’s “Pure” exhibition of Plasterglass at Château La Coste. It was a fitting preview of what was to come for our very own interior designer.
